Deborah Bosner, Owner/Founder

The birth of the Be Sanctuary has been initiated and facilitated by Deborah Bosner. Deborah brings 20 years of expereince from government, corporate, and small business environments, which will enhance The Be Sanctuary’s communication and organization.

Deborah is the oldest daughter of small business owners, a wife/best friend to a UA small business owner, Mom to a brilliant, quirky, and innovative kid, and pet mama to Tater Tot (dog) and French Fry (cat).

Deborah has a passion for bringing together the right people, tools, and experience to improve the effectiveness and well-being of individuals and groups. Her most recent project is volunteering with Ohio Health Hospice.

Professional burnout, the COVID-19 pandemic, and her father’s cancer journey and death accelerated a personal transformation that had been underway for several years prior. Additionally, gifted and mental health diagnoses in adulthood have informed her understanding about the neurological, psychological, and physical aspects of being Twice Exceptional (2e). It has put many of her prior experiences, relationships with others, and expectations in context, which has renewed and increased her compassion for herself and others.

Through exploration with yoga, meditation, somatic therapy with a highly skilled practitioner, and deeper dives into philosophy and multiple global theologies, her nervous system has transformed, and a more centered, more balanced, more loving version of herself has emerged.

This gave rise to a strong desire to bring similar self-acceptance, healing, and compassion to others, which was the seed out of which The Be Sanctuary grew.

Katy Oberle, Co-Founder, Lead Collaborator

Katy is a licensed marriage and family therapist (with 15+ years of experience) turned creative mindfulness coach. Through her business Katy Oberle Creative she provides creative mindfulness services and programming to individuals, businesses, and organizations to help them manage stress, improve connection, cultivate gratitude, and bring more joy, wonder, and creativity into their lives so they can thrive at home, at work, and out in the world.

Katy is also a singer/songwriter/guitarist. She started writing songs as a young teen to help her cope with and better understand her emotions and the world around her. Her songs are about relationships, mental health, spirituality, interconnection, and mindfulness. Through her service Handmade Songs she creates original commissioned songs for organizations and individuals. Katy also utilizes her musical talents as a part-time Senior Artist for Ohio Health Oncology, singing and playing the crystal quartz singing bowls for patients and their family members.

Katy’s journey has allowed her to discover and utilize many creative practices which support her ongoing growth, self-acceptance, and overall wellbeing; she now offers many of these practices to others through her business, including SoulCollage® and mindful vision boarding/art journaling, Shinrin Yoku (forest bathing), sound baths, mindful movement/yoga, and vipassana (insight) and metta (lovingkindness) meditation.

Katy met Deborah in 2022 when Deborah and her family attended one of Katy’s mindful vision boarding workshops. The two connected following the workshop and realized they were kindred spirits who shared the same passion and vision for creating a space where people could practice being, becoming, and belonging with the support of loving community.
